College Life

Well, my fourth week in college is coming to an end tomorrow. God has really done some amazing things in my life already. I've made a few good friends that I enjoy spending time with. I still miss Niger and Sahel, but I know that God has great plans for me here.

This semester I am living on the fourth flour of Bridges Hall. I really love the dorm and my hall. There are some really great girls here. I also just love my RA. She is very sweet and so caring.

I am constantly reminded of my African home and all my great friends.

I haven't gotten involved in too much yet as I am still trying to get used to this new place. The two things I really want to continue doing here are acting and missions work. I really wanted to join one of the drama/theater groups this semester, but I felt it was better to wait until I was sure I had the time. I really hope I do next semester because I love acting so much and really want to continue doing that here.

I was able to apply for Mission TEN here on campus. After an interview and lots of waiting, I was informed that I had been chosen as an assistant leader to lead a trip to Mongolia. I am really looking forward to this trip. I will admit that I was in a little bit of shock when I heard where I was going. Quite honestly, I expected to go back to West Africa, but once the shock was gone, excitement took its place. When I prayed for an assistant leader position, I asked God to send me where He wanted me this summer. I fully trust him in this. As I said before, I know He has great plans for me, and I look forward to following Him this summer. I also look forward to all the work this year and can't wait to have a team set up!

So, as you can tell, this first month has been very good. I have enjoyed every moment of it so far and look forward to many more fun times. (:
